Library Street Collective - Detroit, MI
During the month of May, Library Street Collective will be exhibiting a solo show of Sam Friedman’s work. The Brooklyn-based artist’s paintings reflect the natural world with a style that is intricate, yet abstract. His work is inspired by his illustration and typography background, the commercial artwork he did for companies and publications, and other artists like de Kooning, Leger, Lichtenstein, Lewitt, and Westermann. He was also part of Library Street Collective’s recent project “The Z” that transformed a 10-story parking garage into a street art gallery.
