Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
Music is 99 percent subjective. What's right or "good" for one person may not be right for all listeners. Still, although it may be rare, there are some pretty widely accepted musical facts. The Beatles are the best band ever, Beyonce is to die for, and Miles Davis's Kind of Blue is the essential jazz album.
While there are great modern jazz artists as well, the genre may be lost on the younger generations who weren't around to witness and appreciate Miles's musical genius. They might not know Kind of Blue, but they definitely owe Miles a big thank you, as it has undoubtedly inspired artists from every genre. While you can't thank him in person, a simple listen to Kind of Blue will suffice. Every note, every improvisation, every solo from Davis and his talented supporting cast jumps out. Records like this are why vinyl was invented.
