Ouya (2013)

Realizing the fast expansion and massive interest in the Android gaming market, the creators behind the Kickstarter-funded project built the micro-console with the goal of bringing mobile games to your TV. After earning millions on the crowd-sourced platform and generating a huge buzz before its official launch, the Ouya disappeared faster than Mario Chalmers in the 2014 NBA Finals. The concept, though attractive on paper, was pretty much dead upon arrival due to its limited capabilities, poor hardware, and lack of original IPs. Most gamers just found it easier to game on their iPhone and Samsung Galaxy devices.
