Maurizio Savini - “Grizzly Bear”
Chewing gum can certainly seem wasteful since you can’t actually eat it, and it often makes its way to undesirable locations like the bottom of school desks or the sole of your shoe. Luckily, Maurizio Savini found a way to recycle gum once it has lost its flavor and your jaw is tired from chewing it. He has spent the past 10 years creating sculptures out of hundreds of pieces of pink bubble gum. Even though it seems kind of gross, it actually makes sense that he would use chewed gum as a medium since it can be easily molded like clay. We think that his bright pink life-size “Grizzly Bear” sculpture is pretty impressive.
