10. Kanye West x Louis Vuitton
Before he became the most polarizing celebrity in the world, Kanye West was a critical and fan darling, who at times called himself the Louis Vuitton Don. In 2009, West would team up with the luxury brand to produce a variety of sneakers that were out of the price range of most of the general sneakerhead population. While you could probably count the number of people you know that own a pair of this collaboration on one hand, they are a very interesting footnote in sneaker history because it showed that hip-hop had evolved to the point where a brand like Louis Vuitton was willing to co-sign a line of kicks with one of the genre’s most popular figures.
