2. Banjolele

While the banjo and ukulele both have devoted cult followings, their undecided sibling, the banjolele, never quite made the same breakthrough. Basically a baby-sized banjo with four strings instead of the banjo’s five, this instrument has a soothing sound, but is too small for players with larger hands. Maybe due to its size or maybe due to its gimmicky-sounding name, the banjolele remains more or less a collector’s item.
