7. Dolly Parton
By the time country singer Dolly Parton made her way to SNL, she had already starred in a couple of films, and even had two of her own variety shows in the late ’70s and ’80s, respectively. With that under her belt, she was definitely ready to pull off a few comedic skits for the SNL crowd. Jumping into classic sketches like “Lothar of the Hill People” and “Celebrity Restaurant” seemed pretty easy for her, and she really shined in her own “Dolly’s Mountain Stories” segment. We’d love to see Dolly Parton appear in a new episode to bring back some classic comedy.
