Nelly has contributed much of his time and earnings to multiple charitable causes since hitting the scene in 2000 with one of the top selling rap albums of all time, Country Grammar. The “St. Lunatic” created the nonprofit 4Sho4Kids, which aims to help children born to drug addicted mothers. Another philanthropic cause that Nelly is involved in is his Jes Us 4 Jackie campaign, inspired by his sister who was diagnosed with leukemia. The organization is focused on the importance of bone marrow transplants and why more African-Americans should register to be donors. Yet another way the St. Louis native gives back is through his “Black and White Ball,” an event that raises money for educational scholarships.
