Orcas Island, WA
Oracs Island is the largest of the San Juan Islands off the northwestern part of Washington. Shaped like a horseshoe, the 57-square mile island is a haven for outdoor adventurists looking to get their exploration on. The tiny hamlet is filled with local art and is surrounded by rural backcountry that is inviting, yet challenging. During the summer, visitors can hike, bike or swim their way around the island, or even catch a glimpse of whales passing by in the surrounding Pacific waters.
