Robin Williams in Bobby McFerrin’s “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”
Around the time he starred in Good Morning, Vietnam, Robin Williams appeared in this odd Bobby McFerrin video for “Don’t Worry, Be Happy,” in which the singer puts on a faux Caribbean accent. Sporting a mustache, Williams made several appearances throughout the video in different outfits like a Middle Eastern tunic and hat and a mismatched suit with a Hawaiian shirt and Panama hat. There was no real plot to the video with McFerrin, Williams and another comedian, Bill Irwin, dancing around a living room. Instead, the video consisted of a series of short skits, one of which featured Williams trying to buy his way into a limo that was parked in the middle of the living room with McFerrin sitting on top of it. The limo driver took his money, but then rolled up the window and ignored him. We guess his character was supposed to not worry about losing his money and just be happy.
