Jack Black’s Nacho Libre may have been shallow, but what makes it great is that it takes you to a place that few people know or care to know about: the world of Mexican wrestling. Also, the fact that the movie is loosely based on a real story makes is that much more intriguing. Nacho Libre is no Napoleon Dynamite — let’s get that straight, but it does carry a similar tone with its dry, deadpan humor. Besides, Jack Black as a mask-wearing-monk-turned-Luchador. There are bound to be laughs.
