1. Jeff Buckley - Grace
Though the lone, proper full-length by folk singer Tim Buckely’s son wasn’t a commercial success when it was initially released in 1994, Grace has gone on to sell over 2 million copies and is often cited as highly influential. Centered on his soaring vocals and spot-on falsetto, Jeff Buckley’s debut was a mix of modern, traditional and special. Buckley proved he could bring as much passion to his originals as he could to a song like Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” making it sound completely new, yet timeless.
