With respect owed to the late 1980s, 1994 signified a whole new golden age for hip-hop.  Coming on the heels of seminal debuts from the Wu-Tang Clan and Snoop Dogg, this year represented rap’s diversity and potential to be taken seriously as a musical genre. In particular, newcomers such as Nas, Outkast and The Notorious B.I.G all released the first albums to play roles in them developing into legends, making unpredictable impacts on the game. Along with these iconic moments, other artists at the time had stellar work influenced by the likes of Death Row and the Native Tongues collective.
