Outkast - Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik

One of the first groups to earn Atlanta major recognition, Outkast brought the rhythms of funk and soul to hip-hop. Thanks to “Player’s Ball” and the title track, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik not only bridged a generational gap, but it also gave a voice to Southern life. Group members Andre and Big Boi would go on to become far more experimental than they were in the beginning, also taking time to pursue solo careers, but their initial offering can’t be denied as one of 1994’s more important releases.
