Although unpolished in 1994, Bun B and Pimp C had a growing Southern following with Super Tight… The group’s acronym stood for Underground Kingz, an accurate descriptor as their slang term “trill” wouldn’t become popular for some time. Proud to represent everything going on in the streets, the Texas duo refused to pull punches or apologize for their vulgarity. A well-kept secret until Jay Z’s “Big Pimpin’,” UGK would finally earn their just due with the help of Outkast on 2007’s “International Players Anthem (I Choose You).”
