Sly and Robbie (1970s)
If you’re a fan of reggae music, it’s almost impossible to have never heard of the duo Sly and Robbie. Then again, it’s hard to stay under the radar when you have over 200,000 songs to your name in terms of production credits. Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare took time to establish themselves as artists in Jamaica before linking up, which only made their sound all the more unique and original. The two are responsible for many pivotal moments in the history of reggae music, whether they were creating “Rub A Dub” in the early ’80s or crafting ska bangers for No Doubt in the early 2000s. These guys kept the chunes coming through endlessly.
