StarGate (2006)

Unless you were a jetsetter that spent time taking in the music scene overseas, the name StarGate probably had zero significance to you prior to 2006. In actuality, the duo was pretty big with their late ’90s and early ’00s production for international stars like S Club 7 and Samantha Mumba. However, once R&B newbie at the time Ne-Yo dropped “So Sick” from his 2006 album In My Own Words, it opened the doors for a world of pop music that had never been heard before in the States. Beyoncé, Rihanna, and other pop heavyweights were soon knocking down the door for their beats. 10 Billboard Hot 100 number ones later and they’re still in high demand.
