Check Out Anwar Carrots’s Pop-Up Streetwear Shop and Art Installation on Melrose This Month
Streetwear creative, model, designer, and resident hip individual Anwar Carrots of Peas & Carrots International has curated a concept exhibit at the Scion AV Gallery on Melrose Ave in LA. The pop-up hybrid space showcases Anwar's new limited edition capsule collection, which includes the designer’s signature bright orange carrot graphic (which may or may not be inspired by Roger Rabbit) and collaborations with Born x Raised, Dertbag, and FreedMinds, among others.
The exhibit mixes retail and art, with several original pieces by Anwar's crew on display. "I chose and informed all the artists I wanted to showcase with at the gallery back in January,” Anwar told us. “I saw this as an opportunity to collaborate with artists I admire and all of whom I consider friends.”
The space is filled with work by creatives like SLVSTR and Stella Blue, among others. “Some of my favorite pieces are the Carrot Wordmark tees, Signature Carrot Chenille Hoody, and the Ebbets Field Carrot Field Ground Crew Jacket along with the matching pillow which was inspired by the design of the jacket,” Anwar said.
Anwar says he uses carrots as a theme for the correlation between fashion and farming. The connection between the two still isn’t totally clear but hey, we dig the logo. Anwar’s inspiration for the show? It’s as simple as this: “Creative freedom.”
Interested? Carrot Field: Pick, Pack, and Shipped is openTuesday through Sunday, 12pm to 7pm until April 25th at Scion AV Gallery.
