Be Hypnotized by the Palace Pros
London-based skate company Palace and iconic brand adidas are in the second season of their street style collection. The Spring/Summer 2015 Collection has been out for a couple of weeks now, and it follows the same theme as the original: polyester track suits and soccer jerseys. However, there’s an excellent addition to this year’s collection: the Palace Pro shoe.
A blend of various styles, the Palace Pro is original and classic at the same time. Just like the rest of the line, it takes cues from 1990’s British street style, and it also draws from adidas’ indoor soccer shoe, the Gazelle. But it’s not just an ode to the past. Palace and adidas make sure that this lightweight athletic shoe is ollie-ready and skate approved. They also do a great job at making this a diverse pair of shoes. The Palace Pros are perfect for an intramural soccer scrimmage, a trip to the skatepark, or just an afternoon with good mates.
In celebration of the release, Palace and adidas dropped a mesmerising short video promoting the Palace Pro. Featuring grime emcee D Double E, the short video is like a lesson in hypnosis; D Double E is the hypnotist and we’re his subjects. “Focus on the trainers,” the British rapper says in the video. “You want them. You desire them. You might even buy multiple pairs of them.” If you watch it five times, you’ll almost instinctively go out and cop a few pairs.
The Palace Pros are available in suede (Palace Pro Trainer) and in an adidas Primeknit version.
