Oceanfront Boardwalk and Promenade - Myrtle Beach, SC
The Oceanfront Boardwalk and Promenade in Myrtle Beach is actually the youngest boardwalk on our list. Opened in 2010, the boardwalk runs a little over a mile along the ocean, and with all the success it’s had revitalizing Myrtle Beach, the city may expand it to be over four miles long, which will make it the longest boardwalk in the United States. Ride the Skywheel during the day, a 187-foot tall, glass-enclosed, temperature controlled Ferris wheel, and then stay for a variety of nighttime programming like fireworks, live concerts, a strolling Dixie band, and circus-like attractions with juggling, acrobatics, a fire show, stilt walkers, human statues and more. Choose from the variety of new restaurants along the boardwalk to eat at, or just keep it classic and head to Peaches Corner, which has been holding it down in Myrtle Beach since 1937 with root beer floats and foot-long hotdogs that are deep-fried and then grilled.
