Best of CES: 3 Legged Thing
British company 3 Legged Thing has made a name for itself in a short time with its multi-functional tripod systems that pack a ton of extra attitude. They have a line of tripods dubbed "Punks," and their tripod heads are referred to as "Airheds." Their motto, "Our metal is anything but heavy," is a nod to the fact that their products were built to be as strong and as light as possible.
The company's most famous model, "Brian," was awarded the Innovative Imagine Product of the Year and the PDN PhotoPlus International Conference's Tripod of the Year because of its lightweight and compact design. At (his) tallest, Brian reaches 6.7 feet and can support up to 17.6 pounds. Weighing in at just 3.5 pounds itself, Brian’s legs fold back through a 180-degree arc allowing the tripod to fold down to 16.5 inches.
3 Legged Thing will be showing their line at CES this week in Las Vegas, Nevada. Brian retails for $361 and can be found on their website.
