4. Grime

Blend: Drum and Bass, Hip-Hop and Dancehall
Grime can be looked at as a musical brewing pot — a swirl of many genres in one. It’s not uncommon to find yourself bopping your head like you’re listening to hip-hop, or going full hyphy like there’s a techno party going on in your headphones. Simply put, it’s one of those subgenres where being all over the place actually produces an interesting sound. It wouldn’t be too far off to say Kanye West borrows elements of grime on his latest critically acclaimed album, Yeezus. However, if you really want a good musical reference, U.K. spitter Dizzy Rascal is at the forefront.
