Alyson Shotz - “Mirror Fence”

From 2010 to 2012, a reflective picket fence by Brooklyn-based artist Alyson Shotz lived on the grounds of Storm King Arts Center in the Hudson Valley of New York State. The 130-foot long sculptural installation was made of acrylic, wood, aluminum and stainless steel, and was held together with hardware, reflecting the environment around it. The fence became totally camouflaged as a result, perfectly blending into the grass and trees that surrounded it in the spring, summer and fall, and the snow in the winter.
