Green Label Gallery Amsterdam – Event Recap
In celebration of street art and urban culture, the city of Amsterdam and Mountain Dew played host to the first-ever Green Label Gallery from August 28 to 31, 2014. Artists from around the world were invited to submit their artistic creations via social media for a chance to be featured in the exhibition. Showcasing some of the world’s best digital urban art, the gallery unveiled an extraordinary selection of artwork and illustrations, carefully chosen from more than a thousand entries.
Curated by Dutch art collective Chaotic Bastards, Green Label Gallery is a showpiece in itself. In just three short days, these four talented artists transformed the blank space of the Walls Gallery into a spectacular work of art – printing and curating the selected works and then adding yet another creative dimension to the whole exhibition. Working tirelessly on their illustrations, the crew combined elements from each digital artwork to bring all the pieces together.
Visitors to the Green Label Gallery were invited to vote for their favorite pieces and to witness the making of the exhibition. The winning artwork will be featured at the next Mountain Dew gallery exhibition, Green Label Gallery Brooklyn, September 20 – 21, 2014.
Alongside the launch of the first-ever Green Label Gallery in Amsterdam, Mountain Dew® organized the first-ever European Dew Tour Am Series at the iconic Museumplein. Amateur skaters battled it out for a chance to win a VIP trip to the Dew Tour Toyota City Championships in Brooklyn, New York. Mountain Dew skateboarders Theotis Beasley and Boo Johnson were on hand to attend the event and were also present at the Green Label Gallery opening.
