Digging Through The Greats: Greg Noire

My name is Greg Noire, and I'm a Houston-based music and portrait photographer. I got started around 2008 when I was in college. I had originally bought a low-grade point-and-shoot camera, and I was just shooting things around my campus. The fraternity I was in actually let me use an upgraded camera, and eventually the university press saw what I was doing and offered me a photographer position. They loaned me a DSLR, so I was finally getting the images I had always wanted to get. I began shooting everything under the sun.

I shot my first concert in Houston for a group called The NICEGUYS. I didn’t really know what I was doing. But still, I was shooting around like, "This is amazing. I'm actually shooting at a concert." That experience alone changed how I wanted to make a living, and it was how I decided what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

I couldn't imagine who I would be if it wasn't for photography. Every facet of my life is touched by my ability to create and capture moments. That's what it's all about for me.
