Here Is The Best Jordan Every Year, According to Sole Collector
Back in 1985, safe black and white sneaker designs were on the way out. Observing this, Nike and Michael Jordan implemented bold team colors and custom logos with their new shoe, the Air Jordan. Now, the Air Jordan is the most prominent basketball sneaker in the world, and its Saturday releases still have kids lining up around the block.
Since the sneakers’ inception, Nike and Michael Jordan have released many classic Air Jordans including the Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement” in 1988 and the Air Jordan 13 “Bred” in 1998. With all of the iconic Air Jordan releases over the last 30 years, it’s almost impossible to choose which are the best ones. To celebrate 30 years of the Air Jordan, the good folks at Sole Collector did just that, selecting the best Air Jordan releases from every year until now.
Sole Collector’s list includes some sneakers that became classic partly because of an important game in Michael Jordan’s career. For example, the Air Jordan 6 “Infrared” is iconic because he was wearing them when he won his first NBA championship in 1991 (the first of three consecutive championships). Also, Sole Collector highlights the Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game” sneaker. Of course, this pair of Air Jordans is legendary because MJ wore them while battling the flu in Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals; a game he played incredibly well in.
The list also includes many Air Jordans we’ve grown to love just because of their aesthetic like the Air Jordan 11 Retro “Space Jam” and the Air Jordan 5 “Grape.” Head over to Sole Collector to check out the full list and honor 30 years of incredible Air Jordan sneakers. Do you agree with their picks?
