Rat King: Check Todd Francis’ Grimy Take on HUF’s Latest Line
HUF has launched their latest collaboration and they’ve finally teamed up with American artist Todd Francis.
“Keith Hufnagel and I go way back,” he says in a behind-the-scenes video about the collection. “I was doing board graphics with Real Skateboards since 1992 or 1993 and we’ve been threatening to work on a project pretty much since then, so now’s the perfect time for that.”
Francis is the man behind Antihero’s iconic Eagle logo, and over the last two decades, he’s worked with many other skate companies designing signature graphics. The one's he's best known for are vermin-based graphics or “city-minded, filthy vermin” as he puts it.
“When Keith approached me and we started talking about this project he was very clear we had to do something that was really tough. Something that spoke to my history with Real Skateboards and Antihero, the work that I’m known for as well as HUF’s sort of personal skate legacy,” he continues.
The limited-edition Spring 2015 line consists of co-branded tees, hats, and a skateboard deck complete with snakes, rats, and other pests.
