8. Misfits - Skull
Along with writing some of the catchiest songs in the history of punk rock, Glenn Danzig was an expert art director. Turning an image from serial show The Crimson Ghost into a simple black-and-white skull created one of punk’s most famous craniums. No matter if you were thumbing through the pages of a punk ‘zine, skate mag, or metal publication in the ‘80s, you were going to see someone rocking a Misfits shirt. Danzig’s design has been ripped off by more companies than the band has actual songs, and it has remained a popular shirt since its introduction in the early ‘80s, when they were screen-printed by hand in his mother’s basement.
