Kaytranada and Vic Mensa Drive Us Crazy With Their Newest Collab
It’s been a busy couple of months for Kaytranada, who in our opinion is one of the most talented DJs on SoundCloud right now.
The Haitian-Canadian electronic dance producer is getting the ball rolling on his new BBC Radio show, and he just got added to San Diego’s CRSSD Festival, which is set to take place in mid-March.
Recently, Kaytranada and Vic Mensa teamed up for “Drives Me Crazy,” an XL Recordings-released single from his forthcoming project. Here, Vic shows off his witty flow mashed with a dreamy hook that floats over Kay’s whimsical synths and guitar solos.
The two are no strangers, having previously linked up for Mensa’s single, “Wimme Nah,” which dropped last fall; “Drives Me Crazy” is the duo’s second successful collaboration.
Kay’s So Bad EP was originally set to drop last summer, but by the looks of things he’ll be switching out the shorter project for a full-length debut, which we hope to see in the coming months. “Leave Me Alone,” which features Shay Lia, was unveiled in August, and served as the first teaser from the project. “Drives Me Crazy” is the second.
Mensa seems to really be testing out the EDM waters of late, making an appearance on Disclosure’s new track, “When A Fire Starts to Burn,” and recruiting Chi-Town DJ for his 2014 dance-infused single, “Down on My Luck.”
