Frank Boelter - “The Far Side of the World”
In 2007, artist Frank Boelter went on an unusual marine voyage after creating a giant folded paper boat, which he then set sail in from a shipyard in Lauenburg, Germany. Boelter came up with the idea to create the boat after playing around with a milk carton while having breakfast one morning. He folded the Tetra Pak paper of the carton into a smaller model of the boat, and then decided to create a huge version. His 30-foot long, 55-pound paper boat was made using a 1,830-square foot piece of waterproof Tetra Pak paper, and was surprisingly a quick project to finish, taking him only two hours to create.
