Mark Gonzales and Adidas celebrate 15 years together

Skateboarders switch sponsors all the time. What would the Slap message boards be like without completely unfounded rumors of skaters moving from one board sponsor to another? So when one skater stays with a company for an extended period of time, it’s a big deal. (And when they leave a company after an extended period of time, like Jason Dill and AVE just did, it’s a big deal, too.) Mark Gonzales has been sponsored by Adidas for 15 years. That means he started wearing the Three Stripes in 1998. His Adidas teammate Mark Suciu was five. The Nike SB Dunk hadn’t even emerged as a glimmer in hypebeasts’ eyes. To commemorate Gonzales’s tenure with Adidas, the sneaker company is hosting an art show featuring 15 years of Gonz photographs that have been captured by renowned skate lensemen such as Joe Brook, Gabe Morford, and Skin Phillips. The event will run for two days at the Los Angeles’s HVW8 Art + Design Gallery. See complete details below:
