Meet Boo Williams, the Man Who Has Mentored Countless Basketball Greats

Allen Iverson. Alonzo Mourning. Where would they be without Boo Williams?

Recognizing the wealth of talent in his hometown of Hampton, Virginia, Boo sought to provide a way for players to pursue their dreams of playing basketball at the professional level.

Thus, in 1982, the Boo Williams Summer League was born, a court where young talent could shine and be developed.

He has left and will continue to leave a mark on the players that have come up in his ranks, many of whom have gone on to become coaches, professional basketball players, and so much more.

We join Williams at his eponymous Boo Williams Sportsplex, with interviews from Mourning and Iverson, and a tribute mural by famed aerosol artist Jarus.
