1. The Originators
On August 11, 1973, hip-hop was born in the recreation room of 1520 Sedgwick Avenue, South Bronx. DJ Kool Herc was the father. His pioneering trait was isolating, extending, and repeating the breaks of a record. From this day onwards, hip-hop would transform into a movement far greater and wilder than anyone could have imagined.
