7. Jay Z
Jay Z is simply on a different planet from most rappers, so frankly it's a bit of a struggle figuring out how to include him here. Case in point: Hova's musical output in March was zero, which for any rapper would have made their inclusion here impossible.
What Hova did do in March though was launch a new music streaming service, Tidal, to the U.S.
He's not a businessman, he's a business, man. While all these other emcees are fighting to see who can come up with the hottest hook, Jay is opening up multi-million dollar businesses aimed at re-inventing how digital music is distributed. So yeah, we'd say that has to earn him some serious power points.
Now if the man would only drop some actual music, we'd really be talking.
