10. Trinidad James

Let’s be honest. The last spot is always the hardest. It’s when you realize just how many worthy candidates you’re about to leave out of the discussion. With that said, we know this last one will likely raise some eyebrows, but hear us out: this month Trinidad James—who frankly had been largely forgotten about since he was dropped by Def Jam—dropped an album, No One is Safe, that included the standout track “Black Man Pt. 1” featuring Big K.R.I.T.

In the span of just a month, Trinidad went from a rapper many had forgotten about to a rapper many were wondering if they’re underestimated, and that’s a pretty powerful month in our book.
