Rebecca Mock: Making the Mundane Beautiful Through Gifs

NY-based illustrator Rebecca Mock has a knack for capturing the mundane in a captivating light through gifs.

Some are so subtle that you barely notice anything happening. You may find shadows dancing on a wall, flags waving with the wind, or the scenery moving by a train window—all kinds of small indicators of change or action. Meanings are often implied, and may coincide with an editorial piece that they attend to, but they can be wonders by themselves.

Rebecca has done editorial work for some big names including the New York Times, The New Yorker and BBC Radio 4. And gifs aren’t just it for Rebecca: her print and comic work sees her getting a little busier with more characters and action.
