Robert Mars Brings the Americana in His Stereo Skateboards Collab
Stereo Skateboards has collaborated with pop artist Robert Mars for their latest Stereo Americana series.
Mars's work has been described as “tongue-in-cheek with a vintage vibe” because his designs reflect his fascination with the “Golden Age” of American popular culture, which supposedly occurred between the 1950s and 1960s.
The artist has designed three boards for the line, inspired by boarders Jason Lee and Chris Pastras, along with Stereo Skateboards themselves.
All three boards share a vintage Americana look with a graphic artefact from American history: a gramophone, trumpet, and old-school chopper, which Mars gave a modern twist.
