This Volcom x Spitfire Collab Proves That Two Skate Brands Are Better Than One

Skateboard mega-brands Volcom and Spitfire recently teamed up for an apparel collaboration based around the essentials, from graphic tees and six panel snapbacks to a flannel-lined worker jacket, hoodies, and socks.

Some pieces come stamped with signature collaborative logos that fuse both labels’ iconic motifs.

The campaign brings together the spirits of both brands with its slogan, “Fire and stone don’t burn alone.”

Volcom’s roots stem back to 1991, after founders Richard Woolcott and Tucker Hall were inspired by a trip to Tahoe to establish a brand that married their three favorite board sports: skating, surfing, and snowboarding. They opened their first retail store in 2002, in Los Angeles, and since then the brand has set up shop in six other US cities, as well as a number of locations around the globe. The brand also has elite skateboarding, snowboarding, and surfing teams with some of the world’s top athletes.

Spitfire has been revolutionizing the industry with its skate wheels since 1987. Over the years, they’ve expanded their offerings to skateboard tools, grip tape, stickers, and accessories.

Together, the two brands bring over 50 years of experience to the action sports market. Both boast highly regarded skate programs and share some of the world’s most influential skaters on their teams, like Ryan Sheckler, Grant Taylor, Chima Ferguson, and Dennis Busenitz.

The pieces range in price from $25 to $90, and the collection in full is set to drop on March 2 via Volcom’s online shop [volcom.com].
