Sneakerheads Are Getting Their Own Movie, “Sneakerheadz”
Being a sneakerhead isn’t a hobby. It’s a way of life.
In a documentary that puts the spotlight on some of the sneaker community’s most dedicated collectors and obsessors, Gravitas Ventures, Complex, and Submarine Deluxe present Sneakerheadz.
The film brings attention to the great lengths to which sneakerheads go to cop the rarest kicks, from four-day campouts to sneaker-induced crimes. It also tells the stories and perspectives of fanatics from around the globe, unveiling the truths behind this growing subculture.
Sneakerheadz was directed by David T. Friendly and Mick Partridge and is from the producers of Little Miss Sunshine. It premiered at SXSW last year and will come to Village East Cinemas in NYC on Friday, August 7. A national release and online stream option will follow.
