This “Solar Paper” Kickstarter Project Is Blasting Past Its Funding Goals
This paper-thin solar powered phone charger, "Solar Paper," hit its goals of $50,000, then $250,000, and now $500,000 in a matter of days.
Solar powered chargers are basically the invention we should have had yesterday. Last time we blogged about them, people flipped over this Juse Solar Powered smartphone charger. (Understandably.)
Solar Paper is sexy, too, thin and light enough to fit into "a jacket pocket or notebook," says the maker, Yolk. The current models come in 5, 7.5, and 10 watt versions. They claim that even the smallest wattage charger is comparable to a wall charger, which gives a full iPhone charge in two-and-a-half hours. The higher wattage versions supposedly go even harder, and you can add or subtract panels using the embedded magnets.
But it's not just for your phone! You can plug in anything that takes a USB, even rechargeable batteries. #gogreen
