When Kanye West sent out this tweet on May 2, it was game on.

Sure, Kanye could have been expressing his excitement about the upcoming birthdays of country music star Blake Shelton and NHL hockey player Martin St. Louis. Or perhaps he was trying to drum up enthusiasm around the 30th anniversary of astronaut Sally Ride becoming the first American woman in space. But all signs point to Yeezy announcing the release date of his next album. As with all things Kanye West these days, the tweet also marked the start of speculation about who would be collaborating with him on the album. Rolling Stone is stoking the rumor flames by hypothesizing that Kanye's album could feature Daft Punk, Skrillex, members of Odd Future, Chief Keef, 2 Chainz, and John Legend. While those are certainly some of the biggest names in music right now, it seems a little conservative, especially since Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter says that in one session, Kanye was "kind of screaming primally." If you're going to rumormonger, don't half-monger. Hopefully the next round of rumors about Kanye's album will be a little more out there and we'll start to hear names like Shamu and Carly Rae Jepsen and the as yet unnamed baby living in Kim Kardashian's belly.
