Jeff Staple’s Summer Collections Celebrate the Chaos That Surrounded His Pigeon Dunks
In 2005, Jeff Staple made headlines with the drop of the Pigeon Dunk.
Originally released as part of the 25th Anniversary Nike Dunk City Pack, the highly sought-after shoe would forever change sneaker release strategies the world over because of the frenzy that occurred the day the shoes were made available to the public.
This inspired the collection that will celebrate the shoe's ten-year-anniversary: with this lookbook, Staple shows us the “Pigeon Riot” line, comprised of tanks, tees, and more, featuring designs that incorporate the “Sneaker Frenzy” and “Riot” taglines used by the New York Post surrounding the original sneaker release.
Additional design details include Jeff Staple’s schematic sketches and inspirations for the Pigeon Dunk. With this collection, the folks at Staple hope to cater to their core customer’s DNA, as well as to educate future customers and highlight the strength of the Staple brand and culture.
In addition to the Pigeon Riot collection, Staple also has the new summer-ready collection, “Euphoria,” available for purchase.
These pieces stick to the Staple aesthetic but offer hues for a consumer with a more adventurous color palette. The collection takes influence from the '90s, art, and sports—we also peeped a little bit of a motocross vibe in the collection! Highlights include the Overdrive Tee, Acrylic-Pieced Tee, and Paradiso Tank-top.
The new Staple Summer 2015 collection is now available via their web shop and retailers worldwide.
