Yoko Ono – 1982 Grammys

In what would be an iconic moment in Grammy history, Yoko Ono accepted the Album of the Year award for her and John Lennon’s album, Double Fantasy, in 1982. In a heartfelt speech, Ono struggled to collect her words and hold back her tears. The crowd stood in honor of John Lennon as Ono stated, "I think John is with us here today. Both John and I were always very proud and happy that we were part of the human race. He made good music for the Earth and for the universe.”
