The adidas Skate returns in new “A-League” Magenta Pack
For the next installment of their “A-League” series, adidas has put together a pack with Parisian skate brand Magenta. The collaboration features the rare adidas Skate along with a soccer-inspired jersey.
Magenta was founded in Paris in 2010 and came about because a band of skaters were looking to enrich their community. Through their creative approach to art direction and their knack for craftsmanship they were able to build a brand that stands to this day.
As an example of their love of great design, Magenta exhumed the popular adidas Skate sneaker. The Skate is one of the shoes from adidas’ range of skate silhouettes that doesn’t come around too often. For this project, the Skate comes in a cream colored suede. Additional details in the design include Magenta’s “All Connected" mantra located near the heel of the shoe and an original illustration representing Mother Nature and consciousness on the shoes' insoles.
The second portion of the collection consists of the Magenta soccer-inspired jersey. This special edition piece comes in collegiate burgundy and pays homage to adidas’ roots in soccer. It includes a custom woven adidas x Magenta crest on the chest and an infinity symbol on the reverse side to represent the infinite possibilities that exist in skateboarding.
An additional detail on the jersey includes a woven label featuring a fusion of adidas’ trefoil combined with the Magenta plant logo that can be found on the hem and also on the tongue of the accompanying adidas Skate. To further connect the two pieces from the collection, the jersey also features serrated adidas heritage stripes along the shoulders.
The adidas x Magenta pack will be made available through specialty retailers in the United States and will also see limited distribution throughout Europe through the Magenta Skateboarding site.
