11. Bad Brains

Though the Capital Building illustration that first appeared on the Bad Brains’ ROIR cassette in 1982, the artwork has grown to become the band’s visual identity. Created by Ratcage Records founder David Lee Parsons, who was credited as MIR and whose label also released “Cooky Puss” by the Beastie Boys, the bolt of lightning striking the building has grown to symbolize the “Quickness” we love the Bad Brains for.
