2012 saw the release of the rapper’s crazy-hyped (and deservedly so) debut album, good kid, m.A.A.d. city, and his becoming the headlining act at some of America’s biggest music festivals. Kendrick’s style reflected this new status atop pop music’s hierarchy and became bolder than ever before. Just check out his outfit for 2013’s Governors Ball Music Festival, where he showed up sporting an of-the-moment Christopher Kane sweatsuit.
