Theotis Beasley Takes Part in the 2015 Berrics 2UP Competition
Dew Skate Team member Theotis Beasley is the latest to lay down some goodies in the Berrics 2UP contest. He has been known to put in some serious work on four wheels and now we get to see him show off his skills on two.
When it comes to skateboarding, manuals are the ultimate test of balance and skill. As described by the folks at the Berrics, they are, “A thing of beauty, an art form, the utmost tech of the tech, the manual is much more than a trick—it’s a full-on discipline.”
The 2UP competition began last year and pitted some of the best in the manual game against each other. This year the competition returns with a new batch of 10 skaters who look to one-up each other in a chess match of skateboarding technical-wizardry.
For this series, the Berrics created a series of obstacles that could be used in the competition, in addition to giving the skateboarders free reign over their new and improved skatepark. This was supposed to get participants’ creative juices flowing, resulting in some short clips featuring their best efforts on two wheels.
So far Theotis, Sebo Walker, Cody Cepeda, Tom Asta, and Richie Jackson have completed their videos. We have to say we’re riding for Theotis, but of the entire lot Jackson has presented one of the most whimsical and head-scratching parts—check it out if you don’t believe us.
The Berrics have also included videos with each skater detailing the entire process of filming, allowing viewers a behind-the-scenes look at all of the time and energy that goes into putting down the perfect manual.
The winner of the overall competition depends on votes from viewers, so check out the competition and look out for the next five to step up.
