Tiny Arcade Gives You The Feel Of A Retro Arcade In The Palm Of Your Hand
Before there was Xbox Live Chats and PS4 Parties, there was the arcade—the ultimate hangout for gamers to unite, interact and compete. Ken Burns and the folks at TinyCircuits are attempting to restore that nostalgic joy in a world obsessed with gadgets with Tiny Arcade, an old-school arcade cabinet that fits in the palm of your hand.
Already double-backed on Kickstarter, Tiny Arcade allows you to download free, open-source, retro-style games and play on a cabinet that can be customized to your taste.
Based around TinyCircuits technology, the Tiny Arcade cabinet comes with full color OLED screens, built-in speakers, a microSD expansion slot to download games, a rechargeable lithium battery, and a USB port for charging and reprogramming.
For added fun, Tiny Arcade also comes with a high quality analog joystick and two push buttons, just like the life-size inspiration.
For now, Tiny Arcade plans to have over 20 games available for download when shipping begins and anticipates community members will contribute more in the near future.
To make sure you get yours, head over to Tiny Arcade’s Kickstarter page and select from pre-assembled and DIY kit options before the project closes.
