Tony Hawk Games Ranked

The Tony Hawk franchise became part of the life of every pompous and rebellious middle school kid in the late ‘90s. If your favorite pastime was nailing kickflips in your backyard or blasting punk on your stereo, then you know at some point you played the Tony Hawk franchise games. It was a cultural phenomenon that ruled the sports gaming world and every angst-driven childhood from the late ‘90s to the early 2000s.

The gaming franchise came at the cusp when skateboarding was undoubtedly the coolest thing you could possibly do. You probably subscribed to Thrasher or Transworld Skateboarding magazines. Your favorite hang out spot was the local skate park if you weren’t at the skate shop trying to get cool with the workers there so you could get that Flip or Element skateboard you always wanted on the cheap.

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end. After its fifth release, the franchise was pushing on brand fatigue as it was bordering on the fantastical, and that’s what you get for hanging out with Bam Margera too much. After American Wasteland was released, the rest of the installments faded. But there's nothing wrong with nostalgia, right? As the game nears its 15th anniversary this year, let's take a look back and rank the Tony Hawk franchise.
