Vans and DQM Spring 2015 Brownstones Pack
The homies at Vans and DQM can smell spring coming up in the Northeast. Sadly we’ll be down at SXSW (psych, we’re hyped on our show) and won’t be here when the new spring collection drops from the dynamic duo.
While pretty much the rest of country has the luxury of porches, we NY city folks have brownstones. Coming in all shades of red, grey, and brown these multistoried homes offered “stoops” or steps to chill on, and waste our summers when we’re not trekking across the city four wheels down.
These homes are so iconic that they’ve been featured in countless TV shows, and movies, notably those from directorial luminary Spike Lee. When you say brownstone you can’t help but think of those long summer days and cool summer nights.
So, taking a cue from the homes that represent sections of Harlem and Brooklyn, DQM has taken some familiar classic silhouettes and tricked them out in colorways reminiscent of the stone.
The pack includes four models: two Sk8-Hi 46 LX's and two Old Skool LX's. Check the specs on these: premium leather, suede, nubuck and canvas. To keep it on the fancy side, the shoes feature riveted brass eyelets with single tortoise glass eyelet detail, waxed flat laces, gum outsole and The General’s signature navy blue heel tab print.
We saved the best for last: each pair also comes with a custom “brownstone” illustration on the insoles. As a nod to the bitter winters endured by East Coast homies, these have also been given the weather protection treatment, with the addition of water-resistant Scotchgard™.
Now with this new pack even if you don’t have the luxury of chilling on a stoop you can live vicariously with these kicks.
